Michelle Zink does NOT Disappoint!

I started reading Michelle Zink's Prophecy of the Sisters on Friday, and by Friday night I was done. On Saturday, I picked up Guardian of the Gate, and the same thing! I was finished by Saturday night.

After the mysterious death of their father, twin sisters Alice and Lia learn they are on the opposite sides of an ancient prophecy that could either bring destruction and chaos to the world, or put an end to the prophecy altogether. Lia must race against her sister to find the missing pages of the prophecy and the keys while battling Alice and the Souls who are hell bent on ensuring her demise.

Lia has experienced far too much loss in her 16 years of life. Through the book the reader has the pleasure of watching her transform from a privileged (but always polite and never snotty) teenage girl to a spellcaster who has to learn to use her powers before it is too late.

Michelle Zink's writing is hauntingly beautiful and she does a fantastic job of sweeping you back to the late 1800s. With quick pacing, enchanting characters and an original story line, Prophecy of the Sisters and Guardian of the Gate will leave you BEGGING for the third installment to the series (to be released in August of 2011).

Five stars for BOTH Prophecy of the Sisters and Guardian of the Gate!
